I've been planning and working on this book of Fine art images depicting life on the beaches of Noosa and the northern end of the Sunshine Coast QLD, for quite some time and I'm very happy that it's finally available. At this point it will be for sale through Blurb and Amazon online and I hope to have some hard copies at some local stores in the coming weeks. All of the images have been made by using a Lensbaby Composer/Single Glass optic combination to achieve their distinctive look. Open edition prints and licensing are available via my website at www.noosalifeimages.com
Back in October I entered the Australian Photographer of the Year competition and thought nothing else of it, until yesterday, when I received an email saying that out of more than 2000 photographers and over 8000 submitted images my portfolio of four Lensbaby images of surfers in Noosa achieved a Top 20 place! I'm fairly happy with that.
Simply put, and without any refering to myself in the third party nonsense, this blog is just a means for me to share my work.
I find a great tranquility in being alone on a beach or elsewhere with my camera and tripod just absorbing the beauty around me, watching the light or tide or whatever environment I am lucky enough to be in.
I work with either long exposures, usually in black and white, which I find just adds greater depth to a scene and encourages that little bit more drama or atmosphere than colour does, it's just a more personal I think. Alternatively I'll be out and about with my lensbaby composer, usually with the single glass optic, reflecting my own view of beach life in Noosa and on the Sunshine Coast
Anyway, I don't like waffling on too much, if you want to talk or get in touch please do though my email - link at the top.
